Build multiple silos since they are quite cheap. Also, each grass unit has a 50% chance of getting you hay.ĭon’t settle for just one: It’s difficult to predict the future in Stardew Valley so make sure you have enough hay stacked away. Yes, grass starters cost more, but they are more profitable in the long run because once planted, a grass starter grows and spreads to nearby tiles. Rather than cutting the grass with your sword, use a scythe, build or buy a silo and make some hay while the sun shines.Īvoid buying hay: Instead of buying pieces of hay for 50g each, buy grass starters (100g per piece) instead. You will need to clear grass when creating your farms. It’s neither difficult nor expensive to build, and you will be glad you stored enough hay when the need for it comes. The earlier you build one, the better: Don’t wait until you need a Stardew Valley silo before you start to build one. Silos are unquestionably very useful in Stardew Valley and here are some tips to ensure you maximize the benefits derived from this storage object. So, to prevent spending a significant amount of money, time and effort buying hay, you must literally save some hay for a rainy day – and winter. As already stated, when weather conditions are unfavorable, animals will not go out to feed. The need for a silo in Stardew Valley should be obvious by now. However, when it rains or during the winter, they will refuse to head out to graze, but you need to keep your livestock fed, or else they become unhappy and unproductive. Animals usually don’t mind going out under clear skies to do what they love the most, munch grass. Animals produce valuables like eggs, milk and so on but you need to keep them happy if you hope to get the most from them. You need several things to be successful at animal farming in the game grass and hay are right at the top of that list. The crucial question here is, do players really need a silo?Īlso, I’m sure curious readers are already thinking of how to build a silo in Stardew Valley. Now I'm getting some more ideas for re-arranging the Forest Farm and what I'm gonna do to tackle the jumino's task I'll go back to Forest Farm and see where I can fit a barn in for a couple of cows (didn't realise you could sell animals too later), keep a couple.until can afford the upgrade to get goats and keep a chest full of cows milk.I may keep one cow back. Kenny has worked his little virtual butt off raising 40,000 and got Pam her bus back! I'm deciding whether to save up for the bridge to the quarry next or the greenhouse on that game when I go back to it. I moved onto other game as was getting frustrated with FF. ![]() In FF I was wanting the iron wood axe to get hardwood needed to buy an horse next!! Though the hardwood stumps don't seem to grow back like they do on Forest Farm? also seems to be loads more grass there.havent finished clearing the last 2 area's yet. It has been easier to get copper and iron on the 4 corners farm even with that little bit of rocks available on the farm. my energy was really low too with them flying things starting to swarm me so had to get out quick! The axe has had the copper upgrade. I thought the rock was like the big ones as it covered the whole path and couldn't even slide through between the wall and the rock!. gonna work out expensive if no more grass is going to grow already? (in spring yr2) though don't have a barn yet on this farm!įorgot about getting hay from wheat!. s only the second upgrade so 4 chickens and 4 ducks.haven't got bunnies available yet ,won't be getting anymore of them but was thinking of adding goats. ![]()
